My 15 Derpiest Travel Photos

I love Instagram, but I take it for what it's worth: a glossed version of real life. The same rule can (but doesn't always) applies to the photos we see on our favorite travel sites: only the prettiest, most flattering images make the final cut. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE looking at gorgeous photos of beaches and fellow travel gals dressed super well in the airport. I recently read an article about what a certain blogger wears on long haul and short haul flights, and this is someone who is ultra-fashionable, who offered some doable tips to mix comfort and style.... so those posts totally have a place and a useful function.Though I love me some photo-inspo, I'm very NOT photogenic. I roll across a few fluke shots where I've managed to look great without having to make 6-7 attempts. I typically go for the weird choice when it comes to poses- because if I don't look great, at least I'll get a chuckle or two.So without further ado, here are 15 unflattering shots of my while travelling (and living abroad) that I allow to stay on the internet (one or two have even made an appearance onto my Tinder profile lol). I was inspired to showcase these photos after reading several blog and Twitter comments comments from readers saying that they liked it when I keep it real. So, there ya go-- those derptastic, weird photos give a pretty realistic snapshot (pun intended) into my awkwardness and real-life self. Travel is beautiful and awe-inspiring and majestic.... but it can also be messy and funny and weird!
